Now that I have reported my claim, how long will it take before an adjuster contacts me?
Please allow 24 to 48 hours after reporting the claim for the adjuster to contact you. If after 48 hours no one has contacted you, please call our office for assistance at 202-331-9200.

My car is not drivable as a result of this accident. What should I do?
Have the vehicle towed to a body shop, to your home, or to someplace safe until the adjuster comes out to inspect the vehicle.

My windshield or window was broken in my vehicle. Do I have to wait for the adjuster to see it?
No, you should first check your policy to be sure that you have comprehensive coverage on the vehicle. If comprehensive coverage does apply to that vehicle, then you can take the vehicle to a glass repair shop for repair or replacement and submit the bill to the carrier. Please note that you will be required to pay any deductible that applies to this coverage.

My property sustained severe water damage and it's the weekend and no one can come out to look at it. What do I do?
After determining where the water is coming from, you should do whatever is necessary to stop the water from further damaging your property. If you require a service person to come in you must maintain all records and receipts. Temporary repairs can be completed until the adjuster has had an opportunity to come out and inspect your damages.

Is it okay to obtain an estimate for my damages prior to the adjuster coming out?
Yes, if possible get at least two estimates. This will be helpful in expediting your claim process.

I reported my claim several days ago and no one has contacted me.
Contact your Howard W. Phillips & Company representative for further assistance.
